Win Anantnag seat: BJP high command directs J&K leaders

Jammu, Jan 19: Taking advantage of the fissures among different constituents of the India National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) block on seat sharing in J&K, the BJP high command has asked the J&K unit to shift all focus on newly carved Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha to improve tally in the coming Parliament elections.
Highly placed said that during the nine hours marathon Core Group meeting held on Wednesday, Prabhari and Sah-Parbhari of J&K BJP namely Tarun Chugh and Ashish Sood focussed on the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.
“Both the central leaders asked J&K leaders to devise a comprehensive strategy to ensure the victory of the party on this Parliamentary seat which spread in both Jammu and Kashmir regions”, sources said and added that local leaders were directed to utilize all resources to win this seat because party leadership wants to improve its previous tally of winning three Lok Sabha seats from the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Highly placed sources said that during the Core Group meeting party leaders were of the opinion that the BJP is on a comfortable position on two Lok Sabha sea
Local leaders were directed to utilize all resources to win the Anantnag-Rajouri seat.

Central leaders observed that the BJP has chances to win the Anantnag-Rajouri seat.
Party leaders were of the opinion that the BJP is in a comfortable position on Jammu, Ladakh seats.

Sources said that while discussing the party’s chances on all three seats of Kashmir Valley, the central leaders observed that the BJP has chances to win the Anantnag-Rajouri seat with proper planning and booth-level management.
The official statement issued by the party’s chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi late Thursday night has also authenticated that the main focus of the Core Group meeting was the Anantnag seat.
Party in its official statement said it would “strive to outperform itself compared to last elections in Jammu and Udhampur seats but it will convincingly win Rajouri-Poonch-Anantnag constituency with vast support being received by all segments of society”.
The official statement also added, “the party also drew strategy to win Parliamentary elections in Srinagar and Baramula Parliamentary constituencies as well given the developments in Kashmir post-2019 decision, improvement of security scenario, near normalcy, making lives of people safe and easy, new avenues for earning a livelihood and significant improvement and increase of tourism--the backbone of Kashmir economy”.
