VIJAYPUR, Jan 20: An awareness rally was organised by Nasha Mukht Bharat Committee and Department of Political Science in collaboration with the NSS unit of Government Degree College, Vijaypur under the supervision and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta, Principal of the college to aware public of the adjoining areas regarding Nasha Mukht Bharat and the importance of voting in a dxemocratic country like India. More than 40 college students participated in the activity with great enthusiasm, fervour and zeal. The event commenced with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Anoop Kumar Bhagat, Convenor, Nasha Mukht Bharat Committee, Government Degree College, Vijaypur. He briefed the students that the objective of Nasha Mukht Bharat campaign is to reduce the demand and supply of drugs in India by focusing on its prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, encompassing a comprehensive approach to address the various facets of drug addiction. Prof. Anita Jamwal aquainted the students that the power to vote for country is an important part of democratic country and that there has been positive increase in the Lok Sabha elections marking it as the highest turnout in the history of India in 2019. The event was coordinated by Prof. Anita Jamwal and Dr Anoop Kumar Bhagat, and co-ordinated by Prof. Ritu Bhagat, Prof. Poonam Kundan, Dr. Manoj Heer, Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal and Renuka Kundal.. |
