Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 20: Finding it difficult to mobilize the expected crowd in the ongoing rallies of the newly appointed All India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Sinh Solanki, Congress leadership is worried over people’s response in the Hindu-majority areas of Jammu province. Highly placed sources said that Solanki, who is touring different parts of Jammu province, is also not satisfied with the gatherings in the public outreach programme. “Except in one or two places, local Congress leadership failed to mobilize expected crowds in the rallies of Bharat Sinh Solanki”, sources said and added that low turnout in the rallies of Solanki is the result of the infighting and groupism in the party.
Sources said that despite the resignation of Ghulam Nabi Azad from the party, groupism and factionalism still plagued the Jammu and Kashmir unit of Congress as senior some leaders are not ready to work under the leadership of J&K Congress chief Vikar Rasool Wani.
Sources said that most of the loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad, who had rejoined the party after deserting the newly floated political outfit of their ex-political mentor, have formed another group within the party.
So
Solanki, who is touring different parts of Jammu province, not satisfied with the gatherings.
Loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad, who had rejoined Congress after deserting Azads party , have formed another group.
J&K Congress Chief Vikar Rasool Wani has also failed to take all leaders into confidence.
rces said that J&K Congress chief Vikar Rasool Wani has also failed to take all leaders into confidence while making important decisions. “Wani is also giving importance to those leaders who were earlier fueling factionalism in the party when Ghulam Nabi Azad was in the party”, sources said.
Meanwhile, Congress today organized a rally at Samba, and the party termed today’s rally as part of the election campaign.
Speaking at the rally Solanki made it clear that the people of India are going to make the INDIA block win in the upcoming elections.
Talking about the party’s slogan “Judega Bharat, Jeetega India”, Solanki said that our countrymen are upset with the policies and working style of the BJP in the last ten years and this is the reason why today the India Alliance is getting support from the entire country.
Referring to the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra of former party president and firebrand leader Rahul Gandhi, he said that when Rahul Gandhi had covered thousands of miles on foot from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to connect India, the whole of India accompanied him.
“Now that the Nyaya Yatra has started afresh from a state like Manipur, once again the country is travelling this journey on foot with Rahul Gandhi”, he said.
