MVD launches enforcement drive, Challaned 17 Vehicles, realised fine of Rs 1.65 Lacs

KATHUA, Feb 10: Motor Vehicle Department Kathua organized an enforcement drive and Challaned seventeen vehicles and realised fine with an amount of rupees one Lakh sixty five thousand ( Rs 1.65 ) Lacs from the violators on spot.
According to the report, a team of Motor Vehicle Department Kathua conducted an enforcement drive in Lakhanpur- Kathua road and its various locations in Kathua town. During the course of checking, the team checked 54 vehicles. As many as 17 vehicles were found to be operating in contravention of various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and were issued challans. A fine amount of Rs 24,000/- realised on the spot from compounded challans and another expected amount of Rs 165,000/- from challans.
The whole operation was carried out under the Regional Transport Officer Sh.Kewal Krishan (JKAS), ARTO Er. Jugal Kumar Sharma. In which MVI Sh. Ranjeev Bhasin along with MVI Jatinder Singh, MVTA,. Rasal Singh, Pawan Kumar and Farooq was also present.
While talking with Media Person, RTO Kathua Kewal Krishan Said that the team launched enforcement drive in different locations of Kathua town. During the course of checking 17 vehicles have been Challaned various provisions of MVD act. He appealed to the people to follow the traffic Norms and wear best quality of crash helmet and proper use of seat belt while driving.
He warned to the commercial vehicles divers to avoid overloading if any vehicle found to be operating overloading then strict action will be taken against them under law.
