Raids continue: 10.67 gm heroin recovered; cash recovery Rs 3.06 lakh: Police

REASI, Feb 12: In the war against Drugs Abuse, Reasi Police achieved a major success, interrogated the arrested accused & recovered 10.67 gm Heroin and cash Rs 03.06 Lacs on the disclosure in Serwad Katra.
On 9th of February Munish Kumar S/O Prem Kumar and Prem Kumar S/O Majuru Ram both R/O village- Serwad, Katra were arrested and police recovered 49.43 gm Heroin from their possession. In this regard case FIR No. 43/2024 U/S 8/ 21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Katra & investigations initiated.
During a further course of investigations, accused Munish Kumar was put under sustained questioning by officers during which he Confessed that he had hidden cash and weighing machine at his residence. On this Reasi Police constituted a special team headed by a senior Police Officer who raided & made searches at suspected places including the house of accused Munish Kumar, in the presence of Executive Magistrate Ist Class Katra. The police team recovered cash amounting to Rs.3,06,000/- and 02 no.s of digital weighing machines.
Prem Kumar was also put under sustained questioning by officers during which he Confessed that he had hidden more illegal drugs at his residence. On this Police raided and made searches in the presence of EMIC Katra and recovered 10.67 gm Heroin. Further investigation into financial transactions in the illegal trade in the case is being explored to unweave the illegal network of drug peddling by the accused & his associates.
Mohita Sharma-IPS Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi terming the recovery as a big success of her team and giving the details of the case conveyed that In the case till now Reasi Police seized 60.10 gm Heroin & drug proceeds, cash of ? 03.06 Lacso
SSP appealed that people from all the sections of the society should come forward and join hands in fight against drug abuse to save our future generations.
