BLSKS commemorates 25th anniversary of Bharat Rang Mahotsav

JAMMU, Feb 21: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) marked a significant milestone as it celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2024, the International Theatre Festival of India, with a grand cultural awareness program titled "VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM" at the Open Air Theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu.
In collaboration with the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and Sangam Tru Art production, BLSKS presented its 404th Regular Series Musical Play to promote the traditional Duggar Culture of Jammu and Kashmir. The event, inaugurated by V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, witnessed the presence of esteemed guests including J.K. Raina, Freelancer Producer and Director of Films, Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra from the Directorate of Health, J&K Government, and Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director of the Health Department, among others.
The program commenced with captivating performances including songs like "Rishi Muni Ne Dekha Tha Sapna," "Lo Ayi Vapis Sone Ki Chidiya," "Ekta Ekta Ka Diya," and "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam." These performances, along with dances, were skillfully presented by renowned artists of BLSKS, accompanied by music composed by M.C. Kotwal and assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor at BLSKS.
Dr. Pankaj Chandan, the Chief Guest, elaborated on the philosophical concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, emphasizing the importance of universal brotherhood and interconnectedness. He underscored the relevance of this ancient Indian philosophy in today's globalized world, advocating for kindness, compassion, and respect towards all beings.
Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman of BLSKS, delivered a poignant welcome speech, elucidating the true essence of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and its significance in fostering unity and harmony among individuals irrespective of their differences. M.C. Kotwal, Secretary of BLSKS, elucidated the aims and objectives of the program, highlighting its collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the State Government of Jammu and Kashmir for mass awareness.
The event concluded with a solemn pledge by all participants to eradicate social evils and foster national unity. The performers, including singers, musicians, actors, and students, received accolades for their mesmerizing performances.
Master Deepak Kumar extended a vote of thanks for the successful organization of the program, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and collaborators for their contributions.
The celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2024 by BLSKS served as a testament to the organization's commitment to preserving cultural heritage and promoting unity and inclusivity through the medium of performing arts.
