National Youth Parliament Festival Empowers Young Voices

JAMMU, Feb 21: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, orchestrated a remarkable event-the National Youth Parliament Festival-at the district level on February 20, 2024. This event, a platform for youth engagement and empowerment, saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 100 young individuals representing seven districts: Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Leh, and Kargil.
Aligned with the theme of the 5th edition, "Young Voices: Engage and Empower for Nation's Transformation," the event provided a stage for the participants to express their perspectives on topics of national significance. Over the span of four hours, the virtual gathering witnessed impassioned discussions and presentations by the youth, aiming to qualify for the State Youth Parliament Festival.
The event was presided over by District Youth Officer Khushal Gupta and adjudged by a panel of esteemed personalities including Swatanter Dev Kotwal (Dy. Chief Warden, Civil Defence), S.S Billowria (Eminent Artist), Rakesh Sharma (Teacher), Amar Dev Singh (Teacher), and Gagan Deep Sharma (Eminent Politician).
The participants, representing various youth organizations such as NYKS, NSS, and educational institutions from across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, deliberated on three pivotal themes:
"Making India a Global Leader: The Role of Young Entrepreneurs in Boosting India's Economic Power"
"From Atma Nirbhar to Viksit Bharat: Charting India's Growth Trajectory Powered by Youth"
"Empowering the Future: Youth-Led Initiatives Paving the Way for a Responsible Community"
After rigorous evaluation, the following individuals emerged as qualifiers for the State Youth Parliament Festival:

Pallavi Sharma and Rohit Sharma from District Reasi
Qurat Ul Ain and Khushi Bhardwaj from District Doda
Priya Devi and Anurag Sharma from District Kishtwar
Arushi Goswami and Athar Hussain Wani from District Ramban
Tsering Chosol and Naziya Jabeen from District Leh
Kannez Fatima and Shehnaz Fatima from District Kargil
This event not only showcased the intellectual acumen and passion of the youth but also underscored their potential as catalysts for societal change and national development.
