Drug Control team conducts surprise inspection of medical shops in Samba

SAMBA, Feb 21: A team of drug and food control organization Samba conducted surprise inspection medical shops in Bari Brahmana and Samba town here today.
According to the report, A team of DCO Sanjay Bhat Nisar Ahmed & Gulshan Roy,DCO Samba(HQ), under the direct supervision of ADC Archana Mujoo conducted regulatory checks on retail and wholesale establishments . The primary objective of this concerted effort is to ensure that the dispensing of habit-forming formulations, prone to misuse, strictly aligns with prescriptions provided by registered medical practitioners (RMP).
Pharmacies are directed to maintain records as mandated by law for the sale of habit-forming formulations. Additionally, firms are required to keep records of Schedule H1 drugs and insulin syringes. Compliance with the maintenance of sale/purchase records of H1 formulations was randomly checked and scrutinized to verify procurement through regulated channels.
Further to enhance supervisory measures, the installation of CCTV cameras was emphasized within the trade fraternity. Businessmen are encouraged to place CCTV cameras at prominent locations on their premises and adopt a computerized billing system for record-keeping, aligning with government directives across District Samba.
Assistant controller Drugs said that these are routine exercises carried out by the department regularly and no laxity by any pharma trader shall be spared by the Department.
