Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 21: In a resolute stance, the Kashmiri Displaced People (KDP) Wing of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) has brought to light the pressing issues faced by Prime Minister (PM) Package employees operating in the Valley. Led by President Shri Sanjay Dhar, Chairman Shri Piaray Lal Pandita, General Secretary Raj Kumar Ticku, alongside Naveen Gosani as Youth President and Daizy Dhar as Mahila President, the coalition has voiced a collective demand for immediate action.
The joint statement released by the KDP Wing emphasizes the necessity of establishing an independent committee tasked with assessing the challenges encountered by PM Package employees during their duties in the Valley. The committee is expected to offer recommendations to the government for prompt resolution, aiming to prevent any further harassment or inequity faced by these employee The KDP Wing stresses the imperative of merging PM Package employees with UT Government employees concerning promotions, transfers, budgetary support, time-bound promotions, and timely payment of salaries to prevent defaults in loan payments. The coalition calls for the transfer of life-consuming medical cases to locations with round-the-clock medical facilities, advocating for the sanction of medical expenses without bureaucratic delays.
Demand for SRO 43 compassionate appointments on par with UT Government rules and procedures is articulated.
Priority allocation of transit accommodation for single women employees, MTS, Class IV employees, medical cases, and disabled employees is urged. The release of withheld promotions in Social Welfare and PWD(R&B) Department, along with the merger of promoted posts in the UT Government Budget, is advocated, ensuring parity in seniority with UT Government employees.
The importance of timely salary releases to alleviate financial burdens, such as EMI payments and domestic expenses, is highlighted. PM Package employees paying exorbitant rents are in dire need of monthly rent subsidies, particularly for low-salaried employees and MTS personnel. Special provisions for Maha Shivratri festival celebrations in Valley transit camps and granting leave for employees wishing to celebrate the festival with their families outside the Valley are requested.
