Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Mar 2: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat, today chaired a comprehensive meeting to discuss necessary arrangements for upcoming holy month of Ramadan. The meeting brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, including concerned officers, traders, and representatives from religious organizations. A number of essential topics were meticulously deliberated upon during the session.
Key areas of focus were provision of adequate power and water supply, regulation of prices of essential commodities, maintaining sanitation, traffic management, security, health facilities and other logistical arrangements crucial for the auspicious occasion.
Deputy Commissioner, issued directives to the concerned Executive Engineers from the Jal Shakti and Power Development Department (PDD) to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply during the month of Ramadan.
Emphasizing the importance of these services, he underscored their pivotal role in facilitating a conducive environment for the holy month. Furthermore, stringent measures were outlined to curb black-marketing, or overpricing of essential commodities.
The Deputy Commissioner ordered regular market inspections by officials from the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Food Safety, Police and Legal Metrology departments to enforce fair practices and prevent exploitation of consumers during this period of heightened demand.
The Executive Officers (EO) of Municipalities were asked to maintain standards of cleanliness and sanitation within their respective jurisdictions. The special drive spanning one month, with a special focus on religious sites, was proposed to ensure pristine surroundings conducive to spiritual observances.
Acknowledging the potential risks associated with unforeseen emergencies, the Fire Services department was instructed to maintain readiness and deploy fire tenders to promptly address any fire-related incidents that may arise. In addition, the Health Department was asked to ensure the availability of comprehensive Medicare facilities throughout the duration of the Ramadan. The concerned officers were directed to maintain a robust healthcare infrastructure, including adequate medical supplies, staff, and emergency response protocols.
During the meeting, members of the religious organizations actively highlighted different issues and gave suggestions for effective arrangements for the Holy Month.
