SSP Jammu leads massive Anti-Drug Rally

JAMMU, Mar 4: On the proactive directive of SSP Jammu, a resounding anti-drug rally echoed through the streets of Sub Division City West Jammu today, February 29, 2024. The rally, orchestrated to combat the rising tide of substance abuse, garnered significant participation from various educational institutions and the general public. Commencing from P/S Bakshi Nagar, the procession wound its way through significant landmarks including Gurdwara Chowk Bakshi Nagar, Bhagat Singh Chowk, and Maheshpura, culminating in a gathering at Resham Ghar Park. Over 200 students from prestigious institutions such as Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar and Govt Higher Secondary Schools of Bakshi Nagar and Resham Ghar, alongside approximately 150 concerned citizens, including notable figures like Corporator Balbir Kumar, Sonu Manhas, Kewal Krishan, and social worker Ashish Gupta, fervently participated in the rally.
In a powerful display of unity against drugs, students from Govt Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar led the charge, brandishing anti-drug slogans and displaying impactful messages on placards. Notable speakers during the rally included Nitin, Sumit, Samiksha Slathia, Seerat Bano, Keshav, and Shivam Sharma, who passionately addressed the audience on the perils of drug addiction.
In a bid to equip the youth with knowledge and fortitude against substance abuse, the police distributed dictionaries adorned with anti-drug slogans to the students. SDPO West delivered a comprehensive lecture elucidating the detrimental effects of drug abuse, amplifying awareness among the attendees.
The concerted efforts of SHOs, I/C PPs of Sub Division, and their nafri further underscored the gravity of the initiative. The rally, meticulously organized under the supervision of SP City North Jammu and the overarching leadership of SSP Jammu, marks a significant stride in the collective endeavor to eradicate the scourge of drugs from the community.
