Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, Mar 6: Under the adept leadership of Principal Dr. Romilla Malla Bhat, Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor's Electoral Literacy Club initiated a week-long campaign from February 28th to March 6th, 2024, titled "Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye." The campaign aimed to ensure widespread enlightenment and participation of youth in electoral processes.
Various engaging programs such as interactive workshops, seminars, and a selfie point were organized during the campaign period. Students and faculty members were provided with informational and motivational films and songs through a Google Drive, encouraging them to share the content across their social media platforms for broader dissemination.
As part of the campaign, a one-day Voters Awareness camp was conducted at Village Badgal, Sohal Akhnoor. Dr. Shandilya Perminder Kour, the Convener of the Electoral Literacy Club, along with members Prof. Vijay Kumar and Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, led the initiative alongside a group of enthusiastic students. The camp included informative sessions and a pledge ceremony to underscore the importance of voter awareness.
The campaign reflects GDC Akhnoor's commitment to fostering civic responsibility and active participation among its students, ensuring that they are well-informed and empowered citizens contributing to the democratic process.
