Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 8: In a remarkable display of cultural exchange and spiritual unity, the Vishwa Yog Sansthaan (World Yog Institute) in Jammu recently played host to esteemed foreign dignitaries, Maria Anna Theodora and Kamuran from the Netherlands, accompanied by Jean-Claude from France. Their seven-day visit proved to be a harmonious blend of cultural immersion and spiritual enlightenment.
The dignitaries were warmly welcomed upon arrival, initiating a meaningful exploration of Jammu's rich cultural heritage and spiritual practices. Their itinerary included visits to historic sites such as Bagh e Bahu and the revered Har Ki Pauri, where the tranquility of the surroundings seamlessly intertwined with the spiritual essence of the region.
The pinnacle of their visit was marked by their participation in the Special Mahashivaratri program held on March 8th, 2024. Alongside locals and other esteemed personalities, they immersed themselves in the sacred rituals of the occasion. The air resonated with divine vibrations as they took part in Shiv ji Puja, the Gayatri Havan featuring enchanting chants of the Gayatri Mantra, and the powerful Maha Mrityunjay mantra.
Among the dignitaries present were Sham Lal Basson ji, Ex-Corporator of Ward-48, and Yog Guru Karan ji, Chairman of Vishwa Yog Sansthaan, who added local wisdom and leadership to the proceedings, fostering an atmosphere of cultural exchange and shared spirituality.
Mahashivaratri, one of the most significant festivals in the Hindu calendar, was celebrated with great fervor and devotion. The foreign dignitaries actively engaged in the rituals, showcasing a deep respect for the cultural and spiritual tapestry of Jammu. The event not only brought together individuals from different corners of the globe but also underscored the universal language of spirituality that transcends borders.
Yog Guru Karan ji expressed, "This convergence of cultures is a testament to the power of yoga and spiritual practices in fostering global harmony. The essence of Mahashivaratri goes beyond rituals; it symbolizes the unity of mind, body, and soul, irrespective of geographical boundaries."
The visit of Maria Anna Theodora and Kamuran from the Netherlands, along with Jean-Claude from France, undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Jammu. It serves as a reminder that, in the pursuit of spiritual well-being, people from diverse backgrounds can come together to share in the collective wisdom that transcends borders and fosters a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.
