UDHAMPUR, Mar 13: To sensitize and create awareness among the general public, especially new voters, the District Election Authority Udhampur, in collaboration with SVEEP Cell GDC Boys, today organised a Public Voters Awareness cum Cultural Programme here under SVEEP.
The event, supervised by District Election Officer Udhampur, Saloni Rai and Deputy District Election Officer, Dr. Anirudh Rai, took place at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Gole Market.
District Panchayat Officer, Dr. Preeti Sharma, Chief Education Officer Geetu Bangotra, Election Icons and other officers, along with a large number of youth and general public participated in the programme.
Addressing the participants, District Panchayat Officer Dr. Preeti Sharma, who is also the Nodal Officer SVEEP, highlighted the aim and objectives of SVEEP, emphasizing the importance of voter participation. She appealed to the participants to turn up in greater numbers for the electoral process, stressing the significance of youth involvement in strengthening democracy. Encouraging the enrollment and registration of all eligible voters in the district, she urged participants to generate awareness among their communities, emphasizing that the future of the nation depends on youth participation in voting.
The programme featured various activities including dance, cultural performances by local artists, and poetry speeches, aimed at motivating people to participate in the electoral process. |
