| One person nabbed with 7 litres of illicit liquor by police | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Mar 22: In an another breakthrough in its drive against the trade of illicit liquor, Udhampur police seized approx. 07 Litres of illicit liquor (Desi) from a person who was coming from Shivgali towards Gandtop.
Police patrolling team of PS Basantgarh led by its SHO Insp. Rajinder Kumar while performing patrolling duty at Shivgali area of Basantgarh apprehended one suspected person namely Kewal Kumar S/O Babu Ram R/O Panchound No. 02 for checking purpose. During checking, 07 litres of illicit liquor was recovered which he had kept in his illegal possession to sell the same to the people of the surrounding area in order to gain illegitimate profit.
Meanwhile the recovered consignment of illicit liquor (07 litres) was seized and accused got arrested.
In this regard a case vide FIR No. 05/2024 U/S 48(a) Excise Act got registered at PS Basantgarh and further investigation is underway.
