JKCCA to host National Painters’ Camp at JKTDC Mansar

Jammu, Mar 23: Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu will host a National Painters’ Camp wef 2nd to 4th April, 2024 at JKTDC Complex, Mansar Lake (Dist. Samba, J&K). The camp is dedicated to Prof. (Late) T S Batra, veteran artist & Former Principal, Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), Jammu. Well known artists from different states/ UTs of the country will participate in this camp being organized as the opening of a Year Long Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu.
According to Sh. O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA, the J&K Centre for Creative Arts is entering the 25th year of its inception during 1999, so, the entire dedicated team of JKCCA has resolved to celebrate this year as a Silver Jubilee Year. The centre would conduct art, culture & literature based events of the JKCCA every month. These events would help in remembering and celebrating the contribution of the achievers of this region in the field of art, culture and literature.
According to O P Sharma, the upcoming art event is a dedication to Prof. (Late) T S Batra, a renowned veteran artist, academician & Former Principal, Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), Jammu. He had been the Member of Central Committee of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. He had participated many times in state, national and international level art exhibitions and art camps at different places in the country. It may be mentioned here that Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu was established way back in 1999 by some art lovers and enthusiasts to preserve promote and activate the splendid art heritage of Jammu & Kashmir and simulate & rejuvenate it into a blossoming art movement. Its three pronged strategy is to unleash the progress of languages, literature and other fine arts. The NGO has so far organized hundreds of activities including art, culture and literary events in and outside the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. So far, JKCCA has successfully organized fourteen International Art Exhibitions, and a large number of state and national level art exhibitions and painters camps during last many years under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Kewal K Sharma, Founder President, JKCCA.
The well known artists of different states/ UTs who are participating in this camp include Vibha Singh, Noida; Pritama Singh and Prof. Sunil Saxena, Lucknow; Dr. A K Dixit, New Delhi; K S Gill and Dharminder Sharma, Amritsar; Gaytri and Mansi, Hoshiarpur; Jang S. Verman, O P Sharma, Shakti Kumari and Mehak Sharma, Jammu. Director, JKCCA & renowned artist O P Sharma will be the Curator and Deepak Kumar will be the coordinator for the Camp.
