Govt SPMR College of Commerce celebrates World Theatre Day

JAMMU, Mar 27: NSS Units, SVEEP and Shiksit Bharat Committee in collaboration with EcoClub under the aegis of IQAC of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce celebrated World Theatre Day with compelling skit on Drug Abuse Awareness. The college proudly hosted a mesmerizing Skit presentation by acclaimed theatre artist Shaji Khan and his team from Nav Durga Kala Manch. The event attended by 50 NSS volunteers and other students of the college brought together students, faculty and theatre enthusiasts to celebrate the magic of live performance. The skit presented by the eminent theatre artists was captivating that left the audience spellbound through masterful use of dialogue delivery, expression and emotions. The skit conveyed profound message that how youth fall in trap of drugs and how families of drug addicts and society as a whole gets affected. Another message delivered by the theatre group was to encourage students for electoral participation. Principal, Dr. Rajinder Singh apprised the students about world theatre Day Celebration and said that such an event was a testament to college's commitment to foster creativity and nurture talent within student's community.
Prof. Deepshikha Sharma, NSS PO formally welcomed the chief guest Dr. Rajinder Kumar, staff and students. Speaking on the occasion, she appealed the students to harness the transformative power of theatre to inspire positive change and build a brighter future for all.
Dr. Deepak Pathania, NSS PO, Presented formal vote of thanks and said such kind of programmes raise awareness and inspire meaningful action towards prevention of Drug Abuse. Other faculty members present on the occasion were Prof. Pawan Gupta, Dr. Reena Rani, Prof. Ashraf, Prof. Esha Abrol, Dr. Roomi Rani, Dr. Neeru Devi Anand, Prof. Mamta and Heema.
