Illicit liquor, lahan destroyed ahead of LS elections in Bishnah

JAMMU, Apr 20: Expenditure Observer Samatha Mullamudi, IRS, along with Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Kusum Sharma JKAS during the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections conducted a significant visit to Bishnah, overseeing the destruction of a substantial quantity of illicit liquor & lahan, raw material for the production of illicit liquor.
Approximately 20 litres of illicit liquor and 300 Kgs of lahan was destroyed at Pindi Kathar along the Bishnah Ramgarh road. This operation has been carried out by the Excise Department which highlights a proactive stance towards preserving electoral fairness and environmental sustainability.
Accompanied by Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Jammu, Smt. Kusum Sharma (JKAS), Election Observer Samatha Mullamudi (IRS) actively supervised the meticulous efforts of Excise officials in eradicating the menace of illicit distillation and sale of liquor. The presence of senior officials underscores the strategic importance and commitment to effective governance and environmental stewardship.
Deputy Excise Commissioner Kusum Sharma (JKAS) and the Excise Department exemplify a coordinated approach in upholding the integrity of democratic processes besides addressing environmental challenges.
The Expenditure Observer appreciated the efforts of Excise team for such an initiative where destruction of a substantial quantity of illicit liquor and lahan took place during the ongoing election.
