90 PGs, 46 faculty present papers as conference on surgical event ends at Jammu GMC

JAMMU, Apr 21: The three days long scientific deliberations of Tenth Annual Conference, the Mega Surgical Event (JAKSICON-2024) on the theme, "Welcome technology without forgetting basics and ethics" on Sunday came to an end after four scientific sessions.
As per the official handout, free papers were presented by postgraduate students from SKIMS, ASCOMS, GMC Jammu, GMC Kathua, faculty members and a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Sanjay Sharma on, "Emergency Room Trauma Management" and deliberated by Dr Ishtiaq Mir (HoD CTVS, GMC Jammu), Dr. Furquon (Asst Prof Neurosurgery), Dr. Rajni Bhardwaj (Asstt Prof Surgery) and Dr. Shruti Gupta (Asstt Prof Anesthesia) were also appreciated by the gathering.
In addition, keynote invited guest lecture on "Whipple's Surgery" was delivered by Prof. Rajesh Gupta from PGI Chandigarh.
JAKASI Chairman and Organizing Chairman of the conference, Prof. Sanjay Bhasin informed that day one of the conference was marked by scientific deliberations and PG competitions for Prof. K.L Kapoor Quiz, MayaSham e-poster and Pg free paper awards in addition to scientific papers and video presentations by faculty presentations from all the health and medical education institutions of J&K including AIIMS Jammu and Delhi.
Invited Guest Lecture by Prof Rajinder Prashad from AIIMS New Delhi on the Topic, "Robotics in Surgery", was the highlight of day one.
During day two master videos, orations and panel discussions on ca Breast were the main highlights, in addition to inaugural ceremony presided over by National Treasure of the Association of Surgeons of India, Prof. B L Yadav wherein Prof. H L Goswamy was Chief Guest and Prof. Ashutosh Gupta (Principal and Dean GMC Jammu) was the Guest of Honour.
Prof. Bhasin further informed that the justice has been done with the theme of the conference and in three days 90 pgs, 46 faculty presented their experiences by way of scientific papers, videos presentations of surgeries as well as panel discussions. During valedictory Prof K L Kapoor Ex-HoD of surgery was the chief guest and he presented awards to Pgs, volunteers, exhibitors and the manpower who helped in successful completion of the conference.
Dr. Ashutosh had all praise for the organizing team and especially the organizing skills of Prof. Bhasin.
