“Shut up please”: Sajad Lone’s suggestion to NC leaders amid intense campaigning

Jammu, April 23: Amid intense debate over Islam during the election campaign in Kashmir Valley, Peoples’ Conference chairman and the party candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday asked Abdullahs to shut their mouths and avoid giving sermons on Islam.
“Now they are crossing the line. The best thing for them would be to shut up”, Lone said while reacting to the recent statement of Dr. Farooq Abdullah.
“Before giving me sermons on Islam, Dr. Farooq Abdullah should look into his own home. I am a proud Muslim and I do not need a certificate of my religious identity from a person like Dr. Farooq Abdullah”, Lone said and pointed out that the National Conference president always indulged in anti-Islamic activities like singing Bhajans.

Continuing offensive against the National Conference president, Sajad Lone alleged that Dr. Farooq Abdullah is working for the BJP because his (Farooq’s statement) suits the BJP in different parts of the country.
“Farooq Abdullah’s provocative statements in Kashmir create polarisation in other parts of the country”, he said.
Earlier senior National Conference leader and former minister Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan said that the Peoples’ Conference was responsible for the destruction of Jammu and Kashmir. He further said that the Peoples’ Conference settled graveyards in J&K.
He said that the Peoples’ Conference was responsible for bloodshed and destruction in Kashmir Valley in general and district Kupwara in particular.
