Early Times Report

Dudu Basantgarh, Apr 25: In commemoration of Earth Day, a one-day seminar was organized at GDC Dudu Basantgarh, drawing enthusiastic participation from students who voiced their concerns and ideas on the survival of our planet. The seminar served as a platform for students to express their views on pressing environmental issues and propose solutions for a sustainable future.
Students passionately addressed the dwindling green cover on Earth, highlighting the alarming rate of deforestation. They emphasized the importance of forests in maintaining ecological balance, noting that only ten percent of the Earth’s surface is currently covered by forests, far below the one-third deemed necessary for a healthy environment. The detrimental effects of industrialization on pollution levels were also discussed, with students expressing grave concern over the threat posed to both the planet and humanity.
A painting competition held during the seminar provided students adept in art with an opportunity to creatively depict the dangers facing Mother Earth. Their artworks vividly portrayed environmental degradation and the urgent need for action to protect our planet.
Principal Prof. Anirudh Sharma underscored the critical need to increase the planet’s green cover by planting more trees. He advocated for the closure of industries emitting harmful pollutants and gases, which contribute to rising temperatures and pose a threat to aquatic life and human survival. Prof. Pradeep Kumar, along with academic arrangement teachers, graced the occasion with their presence, lending their support to the cause.
In his vote of thanks, Prof. Pradeep Kumar expressed appreciation for the active participation of students and reiterated the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding the environment for future generations. The seminar served as a call to action, urging individuals and institutions alike to prioritize environmental conservation and adopt sustainable practices for the well-being of the planet and all its inhabitants.
