RAJOURI, Apr 26: NCC Unit, Govt P G College, Rajouri organizes Workshop on the role of NCC in Social service Activities under the patronage of the Principal, Prof.(Dr.) Shamim A Azad. The aim of the event was to apprise the students about the importance of NCC in Community Development. Major Tanwir Ahmed, NCC officer (SD) explained how NCC has adopted community development activities with the aim of absorbing amongst cadets selfless service toward the society, importance of self-help, need to protect the environment and to assist weaker sections of the society towards their uplift. NCC Officer(SW), Prof Salma Farooq acquainted the students with the various programs aimed at helping out society and in motivating the candidates towards helping out their society, community and country. She further added that Youth is the major factor that determines the overall success rate of a Nation.
NCC Officers provided an insight towards the activities of the NCC in social service that include: Tree plantation drives to ensure climatic balance, Blood donation camps aimed at collecting blood to help out those in urgent need, Campaigning against the Dowry in the form of different Rallies, Anti Female Infanticide, AIDS Awareness Rally to spread information about this disease, Disaster Management & Relief at the time of war and epidemics, Cleanliness drives, polio Immunization drives, Anti Drug Rallies, etc
The workshop witnessed a huge participation from both the faculty members and the students. Prof.(Dr.) Shamim A Azad congratulated the Officers and cadets of both wings for organizing the Workshop as this would help in inculcating a sense of responsibility towards the Nation. At the end of the event, the students took a pledge to serve the Nation by actively participating in the Community Development. |
