Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 5: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta along with Dr Narinder Singh National Secretary, BJP, today participated in the vibrant and spiritually enriching Jagannath Rath Yatra held in RS Pura, Jammu.
A sea of fervent worshippers, comprising men, women, and children, participated in the Yatra and chanted names of the Lord Jagannath. The Rath Yatra started with magnanimous welcome of Lordships Shree Shree Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra Devi placed on the chariot decorated with flowers.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that the presence of thousands of people shows the enthusiasm of the people and their devotion which has created a beautiful atmosphere in the city. He said that earlier the Yatra was taken out in Jagannath Puri, Odisha but now almost every part of the country observes it and the Yatra is taken out everywhere.
Stating Yatra’s significance, he said that yatra is an essential part of the ritual of the Hindu system of worship and being unique among all Yatras, it is the grandest festival of the Supreme Divinity (Lord Jagannath) who manifested himself in the KalYug to emancipate humanity and to relieve them from their sufferings. He also said that these moments bind us together and shows that still good prevails over evil.
Kavinder said “The Jagannath Rath Yatra is not merely a procession; it is a sacred journey that symbolizes the timeless bond between humanity and divinity. It is heartening to witness such overwhelming devotion and reverence from people of all backgrounds, reaffirming our collective faith in the eternal values that unite us. As we embark on this auspicious journey, let us draw inspiration from the teachings of Lord Jagannath and strive to emulate his compassion, tolerance, and love for all beings. May this Yatra bring blessings of peace, harmony, and prosperity to our lives and communities.”
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta also performed Pooja at Guru Gorakhnath Mandir, Gorkha Nagar, Jammu. He performed Pooja with religious fervor and prayed for peace and prosperity of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He also distributed Langar among the devotees.
Among those who were present include Vinay Gupta, Narinder Koki, Karuna Chettri (President, Gorkha Sabha), and Pushpinder Charak (General Secretary, District Jammu BJP).
