Government High School, Bhatyari holds NSS camp

JAMMU, May 7: The NSS unit of Dogra College of Education, guided by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college, organized a transformative seven-day NSS camp from May 1st to May 7th, 2024, at Govt. High School, Bhatyari. With a focus on various activities, approximately 50 volunteers from the B.Ed Program actively participated, aiming to foster community engagement and environmental awareness.
The camp commenced with a melodious welcome song performed by NSS volunteers, followed by a welcome address by Arushi Sharma, President of the Student Council at Dogra College of Education. Sharma briefed the audience about the diverse activities planned by the NSS unit for the duration of the camp.
Each day of the camp was dedicated to specific themes and activities:
Day 1: The Inaugural Ceremony featured cultural activities including Saraswati Vandana, Patriotic Songs, and Poems.
Day 2: A Plantation Drive contributed to environmental conservation, emphasizing responsibility towards the ecosystem.
Day 3: A Yoga Session focused on nurturing the mind, body, and soul of the participants.
Day 4: A Community Outreach Program highlighted the importance of Save Bird Save Water, with a rally to raise awareness.
Day 5: A Cleanliness Drive aimed to beautify the surroundings and promote a culture of hygiene and cleanliness.
Day 6: An Awareness Program on water, hygiene, and sanitation equipped the community with essential knowledge for good health practices.
Day 7: The Valedictory Function, attended by the chief guest Surjeet Singh, Sarpanch of Bhatyari, emphasized the significance of such camps in promoting social consciousness and responsibility. A skit on 'Human Rights' was performed, addressing issues like child marriage and gender discrimination. The event concluded with the NSS pledge and a formal vote of thanks by Ms. Shivangi Dhrora, NSS Program Officer.
The camp aimed to spread awareness among rural communities and foster a sense of social responsibility and discipline, aligning with the NSS mission of national integration and social harmony.
