South Kashmir : Cong workers reluctant to support NC

Jammu, May 7: Even as the Congress leadership has declared support to the National Conference candidate Mian Altaf on the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, many hard-core party workers in some parts of south Kashmir are not ready to support the NC candidate.
Highly placed sources said many hard-core Congress, associated with the grand old party for generations, are reluctant to support the National Conference due to political rivalries.
“In some parts of south Kashmir dedicated Congress workers and voters have decided to support Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Anantnag-Rajouri seat”, sources said and added that it was all due to the association of these workers with the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that their first priority is PDP instead of NC.

While both Congress and NC are supporting Mian Altaf, Mehbooba Mufti has reaffirmed her party’s commitment to the INDIA bloc for broader objectives.
Mehbooba has reiterated her party’s prioritization of overarching goals over immediate electoral contests.

While both Congress and the National Conference are actively supporting Mian Altaf, Mehbooba Mufti, reaffirmed her party’s commitment to the INDIA bloc for broader objectives.
Mehbooba emphasized the significance of the INDIA alliance, citing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s comprehensive efforts across societal sections. She reiterated her party’s prioritization of overarching goals over immediate electoral contests.
