JAMMU, May 7: A promising partnership has blossomed between the LJK Economic Growth and Development Dialogue (LEAD) and Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu. The collaboration aims to catalyze growth and development in the agriculture and food processing sectors of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir.
During a recent meeting between LEAD delegates and Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.N Tripathi of SKUAST-Jammu, discussions centered on forging a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize joint initiatives. These initiatives will focus on advancing agricultural practices, promoting innovation, and enhancing food processing capabilities in the region.
In addition to laying the groundwork for collaboration, LEAD announced the second edition of SUYOG - LJK Opportunity Summit. This summit, slated for May 10th, 2024, at SKUAST-Jammu, will spotlight employment and entrepreneurship prospects within the agriculture and food processing sectors. By convening a diverse array of stakeholders, including academia, industry experts, policymakers, and aspiring entrepreneurs, SUYOG aims to foster dialogue and collaboration to harness the untapped potential of the region's agriculture sector.
LEAD officials expressed confidence in SKUAST-Jammu's expertise and research capabilities, acknowledging the university's pivotal role in providing insights into the sector's challenges and opportunities. Through strategic collaboration, both LEAD and SKUAST-Jammu aspire to drive sustainable growth and prosperity in the agriculture landscape of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir. |
