JAMMU, May 7: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, marked World Red Cross Day with a vibrant cultural celebration at Major Institute of Education, Paloura Tok, Jammu. The 422nd Regular Series Dogri Musical Play titled "VISHISHTA MAIN EKTA" was performed to promote the traditional culture of Jammu and Kashmir.
The theme for World Red Cross Day 2024, "I give with joy, and the joy I give is a reward," resonated throughout the event, emphasizing the joy found in giving and recognizing it as a rewarding act in itself. Dr. M.L. Dogra, a renowned writer and director, crafted and directed the musical play, which aimed to instill values of unity and respect for human dignity among students and teachers.
A pledge on Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) was administered to over 250 students and teachers, emphasizing the importance of combating drug addiction. Mrs. Jyoti Devi, Principal of Major Institute of Education, inaugurated the program, highlighting the significance of celebrating World Red Cross Day for the well-being of humanity.
The musical play featured soulful songs such as "Nasha Na Karna - Man Lo Kehna," "Hogi Badi Khrabi," "Khand Mithe Log Dogre," and "Dan Kiya Karo," composed by renowned music teacher Raju Bajgal. Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman of BLSKS, stressed the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross and the importance of promoting health and well-being.
Mahesh Chander Kotwal, General Secretary of BLSKS, shared insights into the organization's cultural activities aimed at promoting Dogra culture. Singers, musicians, and actors including K K Joshi, Bindia Okheda, Chahat Chadha, Rajni Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar Sodhi, and Rahul Kumar captivated the audience with their performances.
The event concluded on a high note with Master Deepak Kumar expressing gratitude for the successful execution of the program. The recording of the event was also shared online via social media platforms, extending its reach to a wider audience for the benefit of all. |
