Historic turnout in Srinagar reflects significant milestone in J&K's democratic journey: Gaurav

JAMMU, May 14: Gaurav Gupta, Former General Secretary of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, expressed profound admiration for the voters of the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency for their exemplary participation in the electoral process, marking the highest voter turnout of 38 per cent since 1989.
In a statement issued today, Gupta extended his gratitude to the residents of Srinagar for exercising their fundamental right to franchise in large numbers, reflecting a significant milestone in the region's democratic journey. He emphasized the historic nature of this turnout, underscoring its significance in fostering a vibrant democratic culture.
Acknowledging the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, Gaurav attributed the restoration of democracy in the Valley to the policies and initiatives undertaken by the central leadership. He lauded PM Modi for his unwavering commitment to ensuring the democratic rights of all citizens, particularly in regions like Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, Gaurav credited the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, for his instrumental role in facilitating peaceful polling in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted that the absence of boycotts and strikes during the polling process in the Kashmir Province, for the first time, is a testament to the positive strides being made towards stability and inclusivity in the region.
Gaurav affirmed that Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory is witnessing unprecedented progress and development under the visionary leadership of PM Modi. He expressed optimism about the future trajectory of the region, emphasizing the transformative impact of government policies on the lives of its residents.
He also highlighted the vital role played by the ECI, District Administration, Police Department and security forces for peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha polls.
