JAMMU, May 16: The basketball teams of Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu have achieved a remarkable victory, securing 1st position in the Inter-School Zonal Level Basketball Championship. Organized by the Jammu District Basketball Association, the championship was held from May 8-11, 2024, at Parade Ground, Jammu.
In a thrilling final match, the DPS Jammu boys' team triumphed over BSF School with a score of 15-7. The girls' team also emerged victorious against BSF School, winning with a score of 13-10. The boys' team featured Navtej Singh (X-C), Tejasveer Singh (X-C), Arush Khajuria (X-C), Vashisht Baru (X-D), Aditya Sharma (X-H), Tanishq Mahajan (IX-B), Japman Singh (IX-C), Paramveer Singh (IX-J), Musa Pervaiz (IX-F), Kinshuk Sharma (IX-C), Terjasv (VIII-I), Ayaan Mohd. (X-G), Rajveer Gupta (XI-H), and Arjun Singh (XI-C). The girls' team included Priyanshi Gupta (X-D), Niharika Sharma (X-D), Ajiti Kikloo (IX-C), Vibhuti Mahajan (X-I), Shreesha Sharma (X-I), Sarish Sharma (X-I), Geetanshi Chandan (XI-H), Kritika Charak (XI-F), Parneet Kour (VIII-B), Kavanveer Kour (IX-F), Jhanvi (IX-F), Anshra Iftikar (VIII-B), Parina Kandhari (IX-F), and Kashvi Rajput (IX-B).
Additionally, players Navtej Singh, Aditya Sharma, Japman Singh, Rajveer Gupta, Priyanshi Gupta, Vibhuti Mahajan, Shreesha Sharma, Geetanshi Chandan, and Ajiti Kikloo have been selected to represent at the Inter-District level competition, scheduled for a later date.
The management of DPS Jammu, led by President-RCT, M.K Ajatshatru Singh, Distinguished PVC, Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh, Director, S.S Sodhi, and Principal Ruchi Chabra, extended their heartfelt congratulations to the victorious teams and their coach, Shaktish Kumar Chopra. They also conveyed their best wishes for the teams' future endeavors.
