BJP central leadership takes serious note of migrant voters staying away from polls

Jammu, May 16: The central leadership of the BJP has taken a very serious note of the low turnout of Kashmiri migrant voters in the Srinagar Parliamentary seat where polling was held on May 13.
Highly placed sources the party leadership would take action against some leaders who were assigned the job to ensure maximum participation of the Kashmiri migrant voters on all the three seats of Kashmir Valley. “Seriousness of the central leadership on this issue can be gauged from the fact that the very next day of the voting, a report was sought from the J&K leadership to give the reason for low turnout in the Srinagar Parliamentary seat”, a source said. “Although local leaders are giving an excuse that voting percentage is much higher as compared to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the central leadership is not convinced wit
Central BJP leadership would act against some leaders who were assigned the job to ensure maximum participation of the Kashmiri migrant voters.
On the very next day of the voting, a report was sought from the J&K leadership to give the reason for low turnout in the Srinagar Parliamentary seat.
Although local leaders are giving an excuse that voting percentage is higher than 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the central leadership is not convinced.
A special cell was set up by the BJP and this cell was working only on the migrant voters to ensure maximum participation of Kashmiri migrant voters.

Sources said the initial report submitted by the special cell of J&K BJP had informed the central leadership that there were over 53,000 Kashmiri migrant voters on the Srinagar Parliamentary seat but a few days before the polling it was informed that only 16,000 were eligible for casting their voters due to some technical issue.
As reported earlier, on Monday only 6800 Kashmiri migrant voters exercised their right to franchise which is above 12 percent of the total 53000 voters on the seat.
The newspaper has reported that a special cell was set up by the BJP and this cell was working only on the migrant voters and dedicated office and staff were at the disposal of the cell to ensure maximum participation of Kashmiri migrant voters.
