GURDASPUR, May 27: : Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister, Kavinder Gupta on Monday asserted that PM Narendra Modi is resolute in honoring all the commitments made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP stalwart leader was addressing an election rally garnering votes for the BJP candidate Dinesh Singh Babbu, for Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency.
Kavinder said that Modi Government has transformed J&K in its 10 years rule as peace, prosperity and progress are the buzz words in the Union Territory unlike anti-national slogans which ruled the roost in the past during the weak regimes of Congress and its ilk.
Citing the statement given by Union Home Minister, Amit Shah about BJP Government fulfilling all promises made in context with J&K, Kavinder Gupta reiterated his party’s unwavering commitment to bringing peace, development, and democratic restoration to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He categorically said that the Modi government is dedicated to holding Assembly elections and restoring statehood to the region, fulfilling all promises made to the people. He assured that the BJP government is actively working towards creating a conducive environment for free and fair elections before September 30, 2024, which will be a significant step towards restoring the democratic fabric of the region. He said it is unfortunate that the so-called Kashmir-centric parties misled the people of J&K for over 70 years and hoodwinked the population just to satiate their vested and dynastic agendas.
Quoting Home Minister Amit Shah, Kavinder said that Modi Government’s foremost priority has been to ensure peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. “We have made significant strides in curbing terrorism and creating a secure environment for all citizens. The reduction in violence and the return of normalcy are testaments to our efforts. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have launched numerous development initiatives aimed at transforming the socio-economic landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
From infrastructure projects to healthcare and education reforms, our government is committed to the holistic development of the region”, he said, adding that the government at the Centre is fully committed to restoring the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Assembly elections will be conducted sooner than later ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and represented. The restoration of statehood remains a top priority and we are working diligently towards achieving this goal as well”, he maintained.
Kavinder asked the people to support BJP wholeheartedly in the Lok Sabha polls to ensure development of the country and the empowerment of the people.
