EPFO organizes an awareness, outreach programme

JAMMU, May 28: An Awareness and Outreach programme - Nidhi Apke Nikat (NAN) 2.0 was organized by EPFO at Army Public School, Akhnoor. Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner -I, RO Jammu and Ladakh conducted this programme on Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 (implemented in UTs of J&K and Ladakhw.e.f 1st November, 2019) and schemes envisaged under this act to encourage the employee audience to plan for their retirement savings.
The Commanding Officer, SO to Chairman , Principal and staff of APS Rakhmuthi, Staff of neighbouring schools like IDPS Akhnoor, Kids Planet, RMG International School, JSK High School Pallanwala, JSK Higher Secondary School Jourian, Faiz Public School Gurha Brahmana, Employees of Jamkash Vehicleades, Local Contractors engaged in command area, along with others participated in this awareness programme.
At the outset, Regional P.F. Commissioner Rizwan Uddin highlighted the importance of enrolling Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to extend the benefits of three social security schemes run by EPFO as under:
Employers Provident Fund scheme 1952 ( EPF)
The Employees Pension Scheme 1995 ( EPS) The Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI)
Being a high-stake agency of the Government of India, EPFO conducted this programme to facilitate compliance keeping in view of "ease of living"and "ease of doing business" initiative of Government.
He spoke at length about the scheme framed under EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act ,1952 and facilitation of compliance under the said act . He also shared about the modalities of employees' and employer's contribution regarding the same scheme.
Later he also briefed the participants about inclusive, cohesive and coherent outreach for participatory awareness for on-the-spot grievances redressal for members or employees and pensioners along with information exchange with various stakeholders.
