Govt Polytechnic for Women organizes Ayush Yoga camp

JAMMU, May 28: Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu in collaboration with Department of Ayush Jammu and Kashmir organized a mega camp on "Personal and menstrual hygiene" for female fitness. The seminar was organized under the guidance of Principal Er. Suket Gupta and the directions from Director J&K Ayush Dr. Mohan Singh & supervision of DAO Dr. Vandana Dogra.
The event was organized to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga among students. The female staff and girl students participated in various traditional asanas and were taught different methods of meditation.
The program was led by Dr. Himani Bhutyal (Medical officer) and her team Dr. Nitin Dutt, Medical Officer, Ishan Mansotra, Mamta Sharma, Vanshika Gupta, Ankita Uppal, Himani and Jaspreet Singh (Yoga Instructors). She delivered a lecture on personal and menstrual hygiene and explained in detail about do and don'ts of personal hygiene, how to manage hygiene during periods. Queries by girl students related to this topic was clearly explained and answered by her.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Naresh Gupta, HOD expressed his views on the importance of yoga and appreciated the efforts of the team members of Ayush Department for the successful event. He also shared that the people have widely accepted the effectiveness of yoga as a form of therapy.
The session was specially organized for all female teachers and girl students of polytechnic. It was very fruitful and everyone enjoyed the session.
The arrangements for the smooth conduct of the camp was made by the College faculty comprising of Bhawana Arora, Program Officer NSS, Deepika Sharma, Lecturer Computer Engg., Banti Devi, P.E.T and others.
Among others present on the occasion were Er. Kamal Kumar HOD, Er. Vishal Nayyar Lecturer E&C Engineering.
