JU organizes Lecture on "Redox Mediated Synthesis"

JAMMU, May 28: A Lecture under the aegis of Chemical Society of PG Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu was organised today in the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, in which Dr. Anukul Jana, Associate Professor-G, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad, delivered an enlightened talk on the topic "Redox Mediated Synthesis of Main-Group Based Open-Shell Compounds". Prof. H.N. Sheikh, welcomed the invited speaker and introduced Dr. Anukul Jana to the audience.
The talk by Dr. Anukul Jana was focused on designing and developing convenient modular routes for synthesising compounds as well as pivotal role of the spin-carriers and spin-couplers in the resulting electronic situation of the open-shell molecules. Research scholars and students enthusiastically participated in the interaction.
The whole event was concluded by Prof. H.N. Sheikh, Head of the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu. The lecture was attended by Prof. Meena Sharma, Prof. D.S. Sambyal, Dr. Monika Gupta, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Dr. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Dr. Nancy Slathia, Dr. Samriti Sharma Dr. Swati Sharma, research scholars and students of the Department. The lecture concluded with the interaction and discussion of the students and research scholars with the invited speaker. At the end, Dr. Monika Gupta presented vote of thanks.
