Jammu Police arrests two drug peddlers, Heroin recovered

Jammu, May 28: In its ongoing drive against the menace of drugs under operation SANJEEVANI,Jammu Police arrested two drug peddlers & recovered approximately 7-8 grams of heroin(Chitta) like substance.
During routine patrolling, a police team from Police Post Canal Road, headed by incharge PP Canal road was on duty in the Nikki Tawi area, Jammu. While patrolling near the 4th Tawi Bridge, the police noticed two pedestrians who, upon seeing the police, turned back and attempted to evade detection. This suspicious behavior prompted the police to apprehend them.
Upon questioning, the suspects identified themselves as:
1.Sunny Mehra, son of Parshotam Mehra, resident of W.No. 10 near Hotel Hill Top, Katra, Reasi &
2.Parvesh Malhotra, son of Ram Singh Malhotra, resident of H.No. 834, Lane No. 07, Puran Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
A personal search of Sunny Mehra resulted in the recovery of approximately 3-4 grams of heroin-like substance and one electronic/digital weighing machine. Similarly, a search of Parvesh Kumar led to the recovery of approximately 3-4 grams of heroin-like substance.
A case, FIR No. 82/2024 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowabad.
The arrests and recovery were made by the police team led by ICPP Canal Road under the supervision of SHO P/S Nowabad, DSP Hqrs., and SP City North Jammu.
Jammu Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community under Operation Sanjeevani.
