Secretary Health reviews functioning of Health department at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, May 29: Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, today convened a meeting to review the functioning of Health department in the district.
Dr. Syed Abid emphasized the importance of efficient healthcare delivery and the need for continuous improvement in medical facilities. He reviewed the current operational status, challenges and achievements of various healthcare units working within the district.
The meeting also had discussion on implementation and compliance with the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC and PNDT) Act. He stressed on the importance of strict adherence to the PC and PNDT Act to prevent its misuse and ensure ethical medical practices.
Dr. Abid Rasheed directed the officers to provide best possible healthcare facilities to the people of Baramulla. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that all residents have access to quality healthcare services, regardless of their socio-economic status.
The meeting provided a platform for Block Medical Officers to present their reports, discuss issues and propose solutions for further enhancing healthcare services. Key topics discussed included resource allocation, infrastructure development, staff training, patient care standards and effective implementation of the PC and PNDT Act.
The Secretary exhorted upon the concerned to ensure that the benefits of Ayushman Bharat should reach to all eligible beneficiaries in the district. He directed the BMOs to identify any remaining targets and ensure that they are covered within a month.
Dr. Abid Rasheed highlighted the necessity of maintaining high standards of healthcare and asked the officers to focus on areas requiring immediate attention. He assured them of the department's support in addressing any challenges and improving service delivery.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical officer Baramulla, Dr Mastoora Akhter, Block Medical Officers and Nodal officers besides other concerned.
