Early Times Report
SAMBA, May 31: The NCORD Cell (Narco Coordination Centre) of Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, G.D.C Samba organized one day awareness session on Drug De-addiction to commemorate World No Tobacco Day. Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri formally welcomed Sh. Vinay Kumar, JKPS SSP, Samba, the chief guest on the occasion. In her welcome address, she highlighted the need of sensitizing the students about the risks associated with tobacco consumption and channelizing their energies in making a healthier and smoke free environment.
In his address, Vinay Kumar, JKPS SSP, Samba apprised the students about the concept of gateway drugs. He advocated for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption among students as peer influence, low risk perception and coping with the stress of difficult transitions make them most vulnerable. At this stage, it becomes quite imperative to engage their minds towards meaningful choices. He congratulated the worthy principal for her constructive contribution in making the college campus a drug free zone. He further advised the students to stay away from this poison and call for an agitation against this menace which is murdering their health and happiness. The program concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Banpreet Kour, IQAC Coordinator.
