GDC Billawar observes “World No Tobacco Day”

Billawar, May 31: Red Ribbon Club, NCC and NSS unit of GDC Billawar Observed “World No Tobacco Day” on 31st May, 2024, with an aim to discourage tobacco use. J&K faces a huge tobacco burden and is the 6th highest consumer of tobacco in the country.
The event was conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Alka Sharma, Honable Principal, GDC Billawar. In this context, two competitions: Slogan writing and Essay Writing were organized. The day was observed with an objective to create awareness about harmful effects (Physical, Mental, psychological and Social) of tobacco use. More than 20 students participated in these competitions.
In Slogan writing Competition, First position secured by Diksha Thakur of Sem-3rd, Second position secured by Nisha Devi of Sem 3rd and Third secured by Baby Verma of Sem 3rd.
In Essay Writing, Competition the First position secured by Shivang Chopra, Second by Sunil and Third by Neeraj Choudhary.
The whole program was conducted by Red Ribbon Club (Prof. Sunita Devi, Co-Convenor), Prof. Kiran Kumari(member), Prof. Suneet Kumar (member), Prof. Raj Kumar (member), NSS Unit (Prof. Kiran Mala, member) and NCC ANO (Mr. Akshay Sharma).
