District Administration Kishtwar, Ayush Department celebrate Yoga Mahotsava

KISHTWAR, June 6: District Administration Kishtwar in collaboration with Ayush Department Kishtwar celebrated 2 mega event of Yoga Mahotsava as a prelude to the International Yoga Day, based on the theme ‘Yoga for Women Empowerment’ in District Kishtwar.
2 yoga Camps were organised under the guidance of the Director Ayush J&K Dr. Mohan Singh and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav.
One Yoga Camp was conducted at Helipad Paddar in coordination with ICDS Department Kishtwar and School Education Department Kishtwar under the supervision of District Nodal Officer Ayush Kishtwar Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal.
The event was started with a lecture on the importance of Yoga for Women Empowerment and well being by Dr. Monika Sharma. During the event Yoga demonstrators were demonstrated various Yoga Asanas and Pranayamas related to the health and hygiene of women.
DDC member, Hari Krishan was present in the event as chief guest.
The program was specially organised for Aanganwadi workers, school students and local females of the Paddar area. About 175 participants were present in the event.
Another mega Yoga Camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr Taraq Hussain at District Hospital Kishtwar where students of ANM school and patients of Drug de addiction Centre participated in various Yoga Asanas and they were taught different methods of meditation and their benefits.
The whole event was coordinated by Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kishtwar-Yudhvir Singh, teaching facility of ANM college and Staff of DH Kishtwar. About 65 participants participated in the camp.
