Essay competition on ill effects of drug abuse held at GDC RS Pura

RS PURA, June 6: Under the Awareness programmes launched by Government of India to curb the menace of drug abuse, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Committee of Govt. Degree College R.S. Pura organizes an essay writing competition on the topic 'Drug abuse and its effects on the social fabric' on Thursday. A number of students participated in the competition. The purpose of this activity was to generate awareness among students against drug abuse. In this competition, Neetu Kumari from BA semester 4th got first, Amit Singh from BA semester 2nd bagged second and Komal from BA semester 2nd grabbed third position. The members of the managing committee and Principal of the college Prof (Dr) Rajni Bhagat encouraged all the students to keep participating in these kind of activities and motivated them to keep spreading awareness in the society. The Principal also lauded the efforts of Prof Neelam Kumari, Convener NMBC for organising the activity. She also urged the students to refrain from temptations such as indulging with drugs, committing offences related to love affairs as such can be devastating to their careers in the future. The while event was coordinated by Prof. Neelam Kumari, Convener Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Committee and the performance of the student was aducated by Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch. Certificates were awarded to all the winners.
