Police recovers 50 sacks of polythene bags

SAMBA, June 6: Police has recovered 50 Sacks of banned Polythene bags in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, district Samba which were being illegally transported in a passenger bus. A Police Party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal, while performing routine vehicle checking duty at NHW naka Tapyal, intercepted a passenger bus bearing Regd No. UP81CT-3537 driven by driver Kulwinder Singh S/o Munsha Singh R/o Fatehgarh Churian district Gurdaspur (Punjab) which was on way from Jalandhar to Katra. During checking of the said vehicle, 50 sacks of polythene bags, each weighing about 24 Kgs (1200kgs approx..in total), were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission and were concealed tactfully beneath sacks of other goods. In this regard, the matter was taken up with District Pollution Control Board, Samba for further legal proceedings at their end.
