JAMMU, June 10: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of JKNC Jammu, has strongly condemned the horrific terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district on Sunday. Suspected terrorists opened fire on the bus, resulting in the tragic deaths of 9 people as the vehicle subsequently rolled down a gorge.
In a press statement issued here today, Rattan Lal Gupta termed the attack as a significant failure of the security and intelligence agencies, emphasizing the urgent need for enhanced vigilance and protective measures despite of repeated requests were made. He said that when the PM is taking Oath at the Centre the security agencies have not made necessary measures at sensitive areas to avoid such untoward incidents.
"This incident is a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities in our security apparatus. Earlier the rise in terrorism activities in Rajouri and Poonch districts was alarming, and now, witnessing such an attack in Reasi is a matter of grave concern," he stated.
The senior NC leader asked the Central Government to take serious note of the escalating terrorism activities, which appear to be shifting from the Srinagar region to the Jammu region. "It is imperative for the authorities to address this growing menace with utmost seriousness and to ensure the safety and security of all citizens," he added.
