Heat wave spell from today

Srinagar, June 10: Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday forecast a fresh spell of heat wave likely to prevail over Jammu and Kashmir from June 11.
"A fresh spell of heat wave will prevail over Jammu and Kashmir from June 11 onwards," the MeT office said.
It said the weather will generally remain dry, with the possibility of light rain and thunder in isolated places that can't be ruled out during June 10 to 17.
The minimum temperature recorded during the intervening nights of Sunday and Monday was 1?C to 3?C below normal in Kashmir Valley, while it was 1?C to 2?C below normal in Jammu and Batote, with few notches in other stations of Jammu division during the period.
Reports of a spell of rain or thundershower at Uri, Baramulla, Gulmarg, Bandipora, Ganderbal, many parts of South Kashmir, Banihal, Poonch, and some parts of Rajouri today .
Srinagar recorded a maximum of 29.5?C on Monday, and it was 1.5?C above normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir during this period of the season.
The maximum temperature at the tourist spot of Pahalgam in south Kashmir today was 24.2?C, which was 0.3?C above normal, while the picnic spot of Kokernag had a maximum of 27.5?C, which was 1.6?C above normal for the day.
Gulmarg recorded a maximum of 18.5?C, which was 0.2?C below normal for the famous ski resort of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Monday, the MeT office said.
