6th Chhari Yatra to be taken out from Jammu to Sudhmahadev on June 22

JAMMU, June 20: The 6th Chhari Yatra from Jammu to Sudhmahadev is set to take place on June 22nd (Saturday) this year. The Sudhmahadev Chhari Yatra Samiti announced the event during a press conference held today at the ancient Panjbakhtar Temple (Rupaye Wale Mandir) in Jammu.
Prominent members of the Samiti, including Narinder Sharma, Ram Magotra, Rajesh Behal, Ritu Chowdhary, Raj Kumar Sodhi, Radhika Gupta, and Pandit Sahil Sharma, were present at the press conference.
The Samiti members highlighted the religious significance of the Sudhmahadev temples, which are referenced in sacred texts like the Padam Puran and Shiv Puran. Mantalai, where Lord Shiva married Mata Parvati, is a notable site along the Yatra route. Pilgrims can visit the exact location where the Barat was served by King Himavat, Mata Parvati's father. The Trishul of Lord Shiva, which he used to kill the demon Sudhanshu, remains in the temple.
The Chhari Pujan will take place on June 21st at 11:00 PM at the Panjbakhtar Temple. The Chhari Yatra will commence from the same temple on June 22nd at 6:30 AM, led by Sant 1008 Swami Damodar Dass Ji Maharaj (Vrindavan Wale). The Yatra will include rituals at several significant temples, including the Shiv Temple in Dhok Waziran (Nagrota), Devika Temples (Udhampur), Toldi Nallah, Chenani Town, Gouri Kund, and finally at the Sudhmahadev Temple.
The Samiti has appealed to all residents of Jammu and Shiv Bhakts to join the Chhari Yatra. Those interested in participating, either individually or in groups, are encouraged to register themselves and their vehicles at the Panjbakhtar Mandir, Jammu, between 6 to 8 PM daily before the Yatra.
Schedule of Events:
June 21, 2024 (Friday):
11:00 AM: Chhari Pujan at Panjbakhtar Temple, Residency Road, Jammu, by 1008 Swami Damodar Dass Ji Maharaj (Vrindaban Wale).
June 22, 2024 (Saturday):
6:30 AM: Chhari Yatra begins at Panjbakhtar Temple, Residency Road, Jammu, flagged off by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
8:00 AM: Arrival at ancient Shiv Temple, Dhok Waziran, Nagrota.
9:00 AM: Departure from Dhok Waziran.
10:00 AM: Arrival at Devika Ji Temple, Udhampur.
11:00 AM: Departure from Devika Ji Temple.
12:00 PM: Arrival at Shiv Cave (Chote Amarnath), Chenani.
12:30 PM: Departure from Shiv Cave.
12:45 PM: Arrival at Ancient Mukteshwar Temple, Chenani. Pujan and performance by artists (UP).
1:30 PM: Departure from Mukteshwar Temple.
2:00 PM: Arrival at Gourikund Temple.
2:30 PM: Departure from Gourikund Temple.
2:45 PM: Arrival at Shul Paneshwar Temple, Sudhmahadev. Pujan and back by evening 4:30 PM.
