Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 17: Expressing grave concern over the alarming surge in terror attacks across the Jammu Division in recent months, National Conference Additional General Secretary and Former Minister Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today lambasted the NDA government at the Centre for policy paralysis on terrorism, saying laxity in tackling the situation will disastrous for the national security.
In a statement, Sadhotra questioned the tall claims being made day in and day out on peace and normalcy dawning in this part of the country and said that instead of patting own backs, the insensitive leadership at the helm should focus on tackling the scourge of terrorism with a sense of urgency lest the situation goes out of control. That the peaceful region of Jammu is braving the brunt of terror violence with impunity can have serious repercussions, he lamented.
"Action speaks louder than words", Ajay Sadhotra said, hoping the government will wake up from the deep slumber and strategise the counter terrorism plan to wipe out terrorists in order to avert the barbaric incidents like Doda, Reasi, Rajouri, Billawar, Hiranagar, Kathua and the other places. He said the gloomy scenario calls for tougher measures to infuse a sense of security and confidence among the people. Sadhotra said the innocent civilians and the uniformed personnel cannot be made soft targets of the terrorists and the obtaining security scenario should be viewed rather seriously. He told the BJP leadership to introspect, stop bombarding statements and instead focus on governance that has become the biggest casualty.
Paying rich tribute to the martyred Captain and the three brave soldiers who offered supreme sacrifice in terror ambush in Doda on Monday evening, Mr Sadhotra said the compatriots shall always remain indebted to brave hearts for defending the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation. He expressed solidarity with the families who lost their dear ones in the terror attack and wished speedy recovery to injured.
