Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 21: In its ongoing effort to offer students exposure through a summer internship program, the Institute of Mass Communication and Skill Development (IMCSD) conducted a special interaction session with Tarun Uppal, Chairperson of Nirbhay Bharat Foundation J&K, held at Talab Tillo Jammu. Uppal shared valuable insights with the students, emphasizing the significance of media as the fourth pillar of democracy. He highlighted the pivotal role of the media in fortifying democracy and upholding accountability, particularly of the ruling political parties. Staying current in the field is crucial, staying informed about the latest global events. Maintain curiosity by asking questions like "Why did this occur?" or "How did this transpire?" Embrace the fundamental principles of "5Ws" journalism: "Who, what, where, when, and why."
Uppal provided in-depth information about his NGO to the students, expressing his vision of advocating for a drug-free India. Currently, through his organization, Nirbhay Bharat Foundation, he is dedicated to empowering the youth of Jammu & Kashmir by creating opportunities for them to excel in sports, education, and cultural activities on both national and international platforms.
Uppal motivated the students by highlighting the vast opportunities available in their chosen field. From newspaper sections to electronic channels, reporting, editing, graphic design, 24-hour news coverage, and entertainment channels, each sector offers ample prospects. Additionally, cinema, OTT platforms, PR roles, and communication officer positions in both government and private sectors are eagerly anticipating their talents. In attendance at this special gathering were Janvi Sharma, Monica Bangotra, Palak Rajput, Ridhima Sharma, Chandni, Raghavi Sharma, Anandita Gupta, Mansha Sharma, Marish Akhtar, Rudraksh Vaidya, Gayatri Kapoor, Riya Chalotra, Niharika Sharma, Chahat Dabgotra, Shalu Devi, Sneha Sharma, Sneha, Baljeet Kaur, along with senior journalists Naveen Kaul, and Vickey Verma.
