ADGP Jammu zone reviews security arrangements for Independence Day

JAMMU, July 29: In preparation for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, Additional Director General of Police Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, IPS, convened a high-level meeting with officials from CAPF, Intelligence agencies, Police, Security wing, and Civil administration. The meeting focused on reviewing and fortifying the security arrangements in Jammu district.
Subsequently, officers present provided an extensive overview of the current security assessment and potential threats. A thorough discussion was held on the inputs shared by intelligence agencies, Army, CRPF, BSF, and CID, ensuring a coordinated approach to address any security concerns.
In his address, ADGP J/Z Anand Jain,IPS highlighted the latest trends in terror activities, emphasizing the importance of inter-agency cooperation to mitigate these threats. He underscored the necessity of reinforcing the border deployment grid, and securing Police and Army establishments. Additionally, he stressed the need for offensive operations, alongside preventive measures in other districts. The establishment of joint checkpoints at vulnerable locations and inter-district boundaries was also emphasized.
While preparing for the 15th of August, the ADGP Jammu Zone emphasized maintaining a high level of alertness and ensuring the peaceful conduct of the ongoing Amarnath Ji Yatra. He directed officers to remain vigilant in border areas and the hinterland to prevent any infiltration attempts. Special attention was given to countering the increasing use of drones by terror outfits for illicit activities.
The ADGP Jammu Zone, Shri Anand Jain, IPS,called for strengthening Naka points on the national highway to monitor and control anti-social elements. He urged officers to thwart any malicious plans of terrorists. Stressing the need to reinforce the border, highway, and hinterland security grids, he directed the formulation of comprehensive security plans to achieve desired results.
The meeting also included a thorough discussion on the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations. Officers briefed the ADGP Jammu on the security scenarios and measures implemented in their respective jurisdictions to ensure a peaceful and trouble-free environment for the public.
