7/30/2024 10:05:56 PM

Early Times Report

Akhnoor, July 30: In a significant move to protect and promote the cultural heritage, art, and languages of Duggar land, the Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) launched a signature campaign in Akhnoor Tehsil near Late Sh. Padamdev Singh Chowk. The initiative aims to garner widespread public support at both Tehsil and District levels for establishing a Satellite Duggar Channel in the Jammu region.
The campaign was led by a dedicated team comprising Sh. Madan Rangila, Sh. Janak Khajuria, Dr. Kamal Sharma, Arvind Anand, J.R. Sagar, and J.R. Jackson. The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Vice President Sh. Madan Rangila, saw the artists’ fraternity of Akhnoor Tehsil come together to elect a new leadership team. Sh. Mohan Singh Jamwal was unanimously elected as President, Ms. Rabia Khajuria as General Secretary, Sh. Rishi Kumar as Vice President, Ravinder Magotra as Organizing Secretary, with Rimpy Gupta, Sonali Gupta, Manakshi Gupta, and Shiv Beragi as executive members.
A considerable number of residents from diverse backgrounds and remote areas of Tehsil Akhnoor signed in support of the Satellite Duggar Channel. The public lauded DADAA’s efforts to preserve Duggar Pardesh’s cultural heritage, art, and languages, promising their full support for this noble cause.
Prominent citizen Dr. Tilak Raj Gupta highlighted the importance of the Satellite Duggar Channel, stating, “This channel is essential to promote the Dogri language and culture worldwide through electronic media, allowing the world to learn about the Dogras and their rich heritage.”
He also emphasized the channel’s potential to explore and promote tourist spots in the Jammu region, such as the Ambaran Buddhist monastic complex, which dates back to the 1st century BCE to the 4th-5th century CE. Such sites provide crucial historical evidence of a vibrant Buddhist phase in Jammu and served as important transit stations for itinerant monks and trade caravans.
Vice President of DADAA, Madan Rangila, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to this cause, calling on all residents of Duggar land to unite in support of the Satellite Duggar Channel. “We will continue our struggle until we achieve our target,” he stated.
The association’s spokesperson, Janak Khajuria, announced that the next signature campaign would be held at Tehsil R.S. Pura and urged all Dogras to raise their voices in support of the Satellite Duggar Channel. For more information or to join the campaign, residents can contact the association’s representatives.
This initiative marks a significant step towards preserving and promoting the rich cultural tapestry of Duggar Pardesh, ensuring that future generations can appreciate and cherish their heritage.
