Delegation of Dogri Language Research Scholars meets former minister Sham Lal Sharma

JAMMU, Aug 1: A delegation of Dogri Language Research Scholars and Students, led by Dr. Ashu Sharma, met with Shri Sham Lal Sharma, the former Minister and Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir BJP, at the BJP District Office in Jammu. The delegation submitted a memorandum outlining their demands to address the neglect of the Dogri language in the region.
The scholars and students expressed their deep concern over the lack of support for the Dogri language in Jammu and Kashmir. They highlighted several long-standing demands, including the appointment of Dogri lecturers in every Higher Secondary School in the Jammu Province, filling vacant Dogri posts in the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, appointing Dogri teachers in all schools across the Jammu Division, and establishing translation cells with Dogri experts in all government departments.
Sham Lal Sharma attentively listened to the delegation's grievances and assured them of his commitment to addressing their concerns. He pledged to make every possible effort to fulfill the demands presented in the memorandum.
The delegation included notable scholars and students such as Dr. Meenakshi, Santosh Kumari, Ajay Singh, Kuldeep Sharma, Ruchi Sharma, Neha Devi, Arif Chaudhary, Rahul, and Mamta Sharma. They expressed hope that their efforts would bring about a positive change in the status and recognition of the Dogri language in Jammu and Kashmir.
