| GDC RS Pura organised Essay Writing Competition | | |  Early Times Report
RS PURA, Aug 7: As a part of ongoing Independence Day Celebrations from Ist to 15th August to commemorate 77th Independence Day, Language Departments in collaboration with NSS organized Essay writing competition under the worthy patronage of the Principal Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour. Students of all semesters participated with full vigour and enthusiasm. The event provided an opportunity to the students to exhibit their command over the language, use of clear and concise language ensuring a logical flow of ideas and adhering to a particular format and structure. Students through their writing depicted the struggle of the freedom fighters, their utmost contribution by sacrificing their lives for the attainment of freedom of the country. While addressing the students, esteemed Principal Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour emphasized the importance of patriotism and the responsibility of the citizens of the Independent India especially urging the participants to cherish and honor the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. The programme was organized by Dr. Neena Gupta Rohmetra, HOD English, Dr. Raj Kumari, HOD Hindi, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, HOD Dogri and Prof. Sanjeev upadhyay HOD Sanskrit. Ritik Sharma of semester-V bagged 1st position, Gursimar Kour of Semester-V stood 2nd and Arti Saroch of Semester-V bagged 3rd position.Dr. Chanchal Angral HOD Zoology and Dr. Shivani Manchanda HOD Economics adjudged the event. Worthy Principal appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee and also encouraged the students to participate more enthusiastically in such type of events in future also. Dr. Kiran Pathania and Prof. Harpreet Kour co-ordinated the event. |
